Harvest Sprouts and Junior Gardener Program

March 3, 2016

Raising the next generation of philanthropists

Need help getting your child to eat vegetables? You’re in luck! Research shows that kids tend to both try and eat more vegetables when they grow them themselves!

The Harvest Sprouts and Junior Gardeners Program will help kids develop a love of gardening, respect for the environment, and a passion for giving back!  The program will be broken into two groups: Sprouts (ages 4-6 yrs) and Junior Gardeners (ages 7-9 yrs and 10-12 yrs).

When: Saturdays in April starting April 2.
Sprouts: 10:30am-11:00am (30min)
Junior Gardeners (both age groups): 11am (1 hour)

Cost: $10

What to Expect:
(Activities and level of effort will vary for each of the age groups)
- mixing soil
- planting
- bug identification
- watering
- composting
- earth worms/night crawlers
- harvesting

The program will conclude with a completion certificate and a farm-to-table lunch. Please register your child today as space is limited (10 Sprouts and 20 Junior Gardeners).

How to Register:
Stop by the Farmhouse and fill out an application form and submit payment (checks are preferred, but we will accept cash, exact payment only no change provided).

You must provide the application and payment together in order to secure your child's spot. First come, first serve.

Please Note: Parent(s) must be present the entire time.  Parents are responsible for their children. Cost of the program is $10 per child and is nonrefundable.  Cost includes supplies, certificate, and farm-to-table lunch.  This program is open to Harvest children only. Your child’s spot is confirmed once Harvest HOA has received your payment.  Checks are preferred, but will accept cash (exact payment only, no change).
