Where is Our Fall Rainfall!

December 1, 2020

GARDENING BY THE MOON

By: Dr. Robert E. Moon Harvest Horticulturist

This is the time of year where we normally recommend that you turn off your irrigation system and let nature do its work.  However, our fall rainfall has not been helping us out this year.  If you have attended HOA meetings I have conducted in the past,  you have heard me say, turn your irrigation to “OFF” in October and leave it off until May except for times of drought or no rainfall.  This year is the exception.  It is 2020.  You need to run your irrigation 1 time per week until rainfall returns.

For those of you who have just moved in and have a newly planted yard, water at least 2 times per week until plant material is established.

Rains will return and when they do, turn your irrigation off again.
